An Announcement from Cathleen Inman, Federation President 2019 – 2020:
Here is the TAMU official statement:
“Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and current community guidelines, Family Weekend 2020 is canceled.”
Following the lead of Texas A&M University, the Federation’s Spring Weekend 2020 is canceled. Your Federation leadership considered all the alternatives but given the severity of potential outcomes especially taking into account how many of our members may be in the most vulnerable demographic, we came to the conclusion that your health and safety is our number one concern. I realize that so much work has gone into this weekend both in terms of the meetings and activities as well as Boutique. I’d like to thank the entire Federation Board and Katie McMordie Latham, 5th VP of Boutique in particular, for their hard work in preparing for the Federation’s Spring Weekend and Boutique. I will forever be so thankful for all the wonderful sisters who go above and beyond for Aggie Moms and our community.
Though having to cancel this weekend is a disappointment, I would hope you’d all agree it’s the right thing given the current response to this crisis by our local, state, and national leaders. Please continue to pray for them as they make difficult decisions and work tirelessly to ensure this crisis has the least impact on us all.
I am so thankful for this year as your Federation President. Words cannot express how much it has meant to be part of the Year of Service and Sisterhood. So many wonderful things have been accomplished and Aggie Moms have impacted our students and communities in ways that will outlast any of us individually. As we look forward to a new year, to all those who have served this year please accept my thanks and gratitude. I’ll look forward to continuing to serve our students, our community, and all Aggie Moms.
Thank you again for a beautiful year and I look forward to all that’s ahead.
